2 – Day Introduction to Industrial Sewing and Garment Making Workshop
About
A two-day beginner workshop at FC Designer Workspace teaching industrial sewing machine skills and garment-making techniques.
This two-day, beginner-friendly workshop introduces industrial sewing and garment construction, running 10am–4pm on both days. Day one covers the anatomy, safe operation and threading of industrial machines, plus stitch tension and precision sewing exercises. Day two moves on to fabric handling, overlockers, cutting cloth and constructing a simple garment such as a baby T-shirt with finishing details like binding and pockets. Instruction is led by Louisa, an experienced stitching tutor at the Fashion Technology Academy in Islington, and participants bring lightweight woven fabric for the final project.
