New College Festival – Luke Kennard

Award-winning poet and novelist Luke Kennard discusses his creative work, particularly 'The Book of Jonah', exploring themes of religious belief and narrative within global capitalism.

This afternoon session welcomes Luke Kennard to discuss how religious belief and narrative shape his creative output. In 'The Book of Jonah', Kennard blends the sacred with the absurd, portraying a wily business traveller fleeing God through various global agencies. He explores what prophecy and purpose might mean within the context of modern global capitalism.
