Playwright David Ireland discusses 'The Fifth Step' and 'Coldwater' with Donald Smith at the New College Festival of Books and Belief.

Playwright David Ireland joins the New College Festival of Books and Belief to discuss 'The Fifth Step', his 2024 play about recovery, intimacy and faith staged by National Theatre of Scotland and later in London's West End, and his 2025 ITV drama 'Coldwater'. Chaired by Donald Smith, the hour-long conversation explores the themes of faith, masculinity and secrecy running through his work.
