New College Festival – Malcolm Guite

Poet Malcolm Guite introduces his Arthurian verse volume 'Galahad and the Grail' with a preview of the next book, chaired by Jolyon Mitchell.

As part of the New College Festival of Books and Belief, poet Malcolm Guite presents 'Galahad and the Grail', the first volume of his four-part Arthurian series 'Merlin's Isle: An Arthuriad', published by Canterbury Press in 2026 and illustrated with woodcuts by Stephen Crotts. He will discuss how the series reimagines the legend of King Arthur, restoring its mystery and theological imagination. The session also offers a preview of the forthcoming second volume, 'The Coming of Arthur', which explores young Arthur's beginnings at Tintagel. The event runs for 90 minutes and is chaired by Jolyon Mitchell.
