New College Festival – Alycia Pirmohamed
About
Poet and essayist Alycia Pirmohamed discusses her debut non-fiction book 'Shorelines' at the New College Festival of Books and Belief.
Alycia Pirmohamed appears at the New College Festival of Books and Belief to celebrate 'Shorelines' (Canongate, 2026), her Nan Shepherd Prize-winning debut work of non-fiction. The book blends memoir and lyrical nature writing to trace migration, memory, faith, race and belonging across landscapes from Canada and East Africa to the Pacific Northwest and the British Isles. The hour-long session, chaired by David Farrier, explores hidden histories, family loss, inherited homelands and questions of who feels welcome in the natural world.
