City of Bristol Choir: Choral Fireworks
About
City of Bristol Choir with the Brandon Hill Chamber Orchestra performs Vivaldi's Dixit Dominus and Handel's Royal Fireworks music at St George's Bristol.
City of Bristol Choir, conducted by David Ogden, joins the Brandon Hill Chamber Orchestra for a programme marking the eve of Remembrance Sunday. The centrepiece is the first Bristol performance of Vivaldi's Dixit Dominus RV 807, a choral work rediscovered in 2005, alongside Vasks' The Fruit of Silence and two Handel works celebrating peace: Music for the Royal Fireworks and the Te Deum for the Peace of Utrecht. Around 100 singers perform with soloists including sopranos, mezzos and virtuosic duets from tenor brothers Gwilym and Ruairi Bowen. The event is suitable for ages 8+.
