Winter Grass Identification
About
A one-day outdoor field course at Old Sarum teaching winter vegetative identification of grasses and sedges for habitat assessment.
A one-day outdoor field course teaching vegetative identification of grasses and sedges visible in winter, aimed at ecologists who need to assess neutral and calcareous grassland habitats outside the summer season. Participants learn key species and how to use them to judge grassland value for conservation and planning, working across improved to unimproved grassland at Old Sarum. The course is led by Dominic Price of The Species Recovery Trust and can count towards CPD, with proceeds supporting endangered species conservation.
