Villiers Quartet With Adam Vasilko [Alto Saxophone]
About
The Villiers Quartet and saxophonist Adam Vasilko perform Schubert, Montgomery, a new Vasilko work and Beethoven's 'Razumovsky' Quartet, with a pre-concert talk by Dr Peter Copley.
This concert pairs Schubert's Quartettsatz in C minor with Beethoven's String Quartet in F major, op. 59 no. 1, the first of the 'Razumovsky' quartets, opening a new series on Beethoven's middle period quartets. Jessie Montgomery's Strum and Adam Vasilko's new work for alto saxophone and string quartet, the latest of the Villiers Quartet's collaborations with St Hilda's College composers, complete the programme. A pre-concert talk by Dr Peter Copley begins at 18:45, with the concert at 19:30.
