Autonomy, Space & the Ocean: Who Runs the System?
About
A seminar exploring who will operate and control the autonomous technologies shaping the future of offshore activity, and Cornwall's potential role.
This seminar examines how autonomous vessels, drones, robotics, satellites and advanced communications are changing work across large areas of ocean, and asks who will run these systems and from where. Speakers Captain Aidan Riley, Commanding Officer designate at RNAS Culdrose, and Richard Pemberton, Principal Naval Architect at Solis Marine Engineering, bring operational and engineering perspectives. They will discuss how maritime, defence and space technologies are converging, and what Cornwall's mix of maritime expertise, aviation, communications and a growing space sector could mean for Falmouth, Penryn and the wider region.
