The Jazz Experience for Beginners

A sold-out six-session Sunday morning course at The Stables introducing instrumental players to jazz language, repertoire and group playing.

This six-session course is for instrumental players new to jazz, introducing the language and repertoire of jazz through activities and playing in small and large groups with expert tutors. Open to piano, guitar, bass, drum kit, brass, reed and woodwind players, with rhythm-section places limited to balance the bands. Participants learn well-known jazz tunes from memory, culminating in an informal performance on the final afternoon of 29 November, which runs to 1.30pm.
