Study Against The State
About
A free panel discussion on resisting state surveillance and censorship used to stifle Palestine solidarity, part of Arika's Episode 12 festival at Tramway.
This discussion session, part of day 3 of Arika's Episode 12: From the Rivers to the Seas, examines how policing and state censorship use 'community safety' and 'hate crime' discourses to restrict Palestine solidarity. Speakers including Joel White, layla-roxanne hill, Darcy Leigh, Masa Nazzal and Hajar Ibrahim consider how to resist the institutional assimilation of ideas like free speech, anti-racism and diversity. The session asks what practices can be developed that resist surveillance while building knowledge of state power. Live captioning is provided; the session will discuss state surveillance and police violence.
