About

A screening and conversation with Palestinian filmmaker Michel Khleifi, part of Arika's Episode 12 festival at Tramway.

As part of Day 4 of Arika's Episode 12: From the Rivers to the Seas, Michel Khleifi — regarded as the founder of contemporary Palestinian cinema — is in conversation with Ayreen Anastas and Rene Gabri. He screens his 1984 documentary Ma'loul Celebrates its Destruction, an exploration of anti-colonial time and persistence, alongside clips from other films, and discusses his pioneering work. The session runs 8.10–10pm in T1, with English subtitling on the films and BSL interpretation for the discussion.
