About
Three anti-colonial thinkers discuss how the idea of innocence has been used to conceal the crimes of colonisation.
Part of Day 4 of Arika's Episode 12: From the Rivers to the Seas, a five-day programme of film, music, discussion and study at Tramway. In this session Houria Bouteldja, Ramón Grosfoguel and Françoise Vergès examine how the notion of innocence has been weaponised to hide colonial crimes and how it continues to enable colonial systems today. The discussion is live captioned and free to attend on a first-come, first-served basis, with a content note covering Islamophobia, homophobia, antisemitism, colonial violence and genocide.
