The Art of Hand Embroidery with Richard McVetis
About
A one-day hand embroidery workshop with artist Richard McVetis exploring stitch as mark-making, for all levels.
Artist Richard McVetis leads a day-long workshop exploring hand stitching as a form of drawing and mark-making, focusing on the rhythms and meditative qualities of embroidery. Participants experiment with stitch, scale, spacing and thread to create textures and patterns, with demonstrations from Richard. All materials are included, along with a light lunch from Norfolk Street Bakery, and there is an optional chance to look inside 186 Gwydir Street during the break. The workshop is limited to eight people and is suitable for all levels of hand embroiderers.
