About

A relaxed guided walk at Gosforth Nature Reserve searching reedbeds and pond margins for the water ladybird and other ladybird species.

Led by NHSN naturalist Matthew Harrison, this informal beginner-friendly walk explores the reserve's reedbeds and pond margins in search of the elusive water ladybird. The group will also survey nearby Gorse for other ladybirds such as the 7-Spot, Harlequin and possibly Pine Ladybird, with all sightings recorded for NHSN's North East Ladybird Spot. The flat circular walk covers 1–2 miles on boardwalk, gravel and woodland paths; sweep nets are provided and no prior experience is needed.
