About
Baritone Sir Simon Keenlyside and pianist Joseph Middleton open the Leeds Song Festival with a recital of Schumann, Mahler, Vaughan Williams, Warlock, Ireland, Ravel and Strauss.
This evening recital opens the Leeds Song Festival, with British baritone Sir Simon Keenlyside joined by festival director and pianist Joseph Middleton. The programme begins with German Romantic songs by Schumann and Mahler, moves through English works by Vaughan Williams, Ireland and Warlock, and features Ravel's Histoires Naturelles before closing with atmospheric Strauss songs. A 15-minute showcase by alumni of the 2027 Young Artist Programme precedes the main recital, which runs for two hours.
