Italian Stage 1A

A 12-week beginners' Italian course at Mary Ward Centre, Stratford, teaching basic speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

This complete beginners' Italian course runs for 12 weeks on Wednesday evenings and requires no previous knowledge of the language. Lessons are interactive and learner-centred, using practical activities, short dialogues and everyday situations to build core vocabulary, basic grammar, pronunciation and conversational confidence. It is the first of three terms (Stage 1A, 1B and 1C) that together form Italian Stage 1, and learners can progress to Stage 1B afterwards. The course suits complete beginners, those returning to Italian after a break, and travellers or anyone interested in Italian language and culture.
