Home Education at RLLM 2026 - Bonfire Night

A hands-on home education workshop for children aged 5-12 exploring the history, science and creativity behind Bonfire Night.

This session in the museum's new home education programme takes children back in time to discover the story behind Bonfire Night and how it became a tradition of fire, lanterns and celebration. Led by Laura, who has been part of the home education community for 18 years, the workshop explores the history while investigating the science and creativity behind fire and fireworks. Sessions run 10am-12pm, are aimed at 5-12 year olds (though ages are flexible) and are limited to 15 children.
