Light in the Darkness
About
A hands-on home education workshop at the museum exploring life before electric lights, light and shadows, and wartime darkness, for children aged 5–12.
Part of the museum's new Home Education Sessions programme, this workshop runs from 10am to 12pm and is led by Laura, a home educator of 18 years, with funding from the Community Foundation for Surrey. Children discover what life was like before electric lights and how people coped with darkness during WW2, exploring light, shadows and traditional ways of creating light through hands-on challenges and crafts. Sessions are aimed at 5–12 year olds (ages flexible), limited to 15 children, with sibling discounts and one adult per paying child free.
