Surrey Artist of the Year 2026: Celebrating Creativity in Surrey
About
An exhibition of shortlisted Surrey artists' work with public voting and an award ceremony on 23 October.
The Surrey Artist of the Year 2026 exhibition at New Ashgate Gallery, run with Surrey Artists Open Studios, shows work by seventeen shortlisted artists spanning painting, printmaking, drawing, textiles and ceramics. Visitors can vote for their favourite artist during the exhibition, with voting closing at noon on 23 October, and a panel of judges also contributes to the decision. The winner is announced at an award ceremony on 23 October from 6.30 to 7.30pm, open to all, and receives a bursary for a solo exhibition at the gallery. Free family art workshops take place during the October half-term.
