Fresh Thursday // Elf Traps + Shunya

A Fresh Thursday gig pairing Manchester electronic acts Elf Traps and Shunya with a home-cooked plant-based meal at Cobalt Studios.

Fresh Thursday is Cobalt Studios' regular seated night of new music served with a home-cooked, largely vegan meal, board games and candles, with the bar open afterwards. This edition features Elf Traps, the new project from Rob Turner (ex-GoGo Penguin) and Liviu Gheorghe (ex-Matthew Halsall), blending spiritual jazz, glitchy electronics, jungle and ambient through improvised drums, analogue synths and laptops. Also performing is Shunya, the alias of multi-instrumentalist and producer Alan Keary, whose sound draws on classical violin, jazz bass and Manchester's electronic scene. Doors open at 7pm with dinner served from around 8pm, music starting roughly an hour after doors and finishing by around 10–10.15pm.
