Bronze Casting Workshops - December

A one-day bronze casting workshop where participants craft a sword, axehead, knife or torc under archaeo-bronzesmith James Clift.

This one-day workshop teaches the Bronze Age technique of casting molten bronze in sand moulds. Participants choose a design based on real UK and European archaeology, make and use a sand mould from a pattern, melt bronze in a furnace, and learn how to polish and finish their casting. With only two participants per session, each person receives close personal tuition from master archaeo-bronzesmith James Clift. The workshop runs 10am to 3pm with a lunch break, is intended for adults but suitable for ages 16+, and includes farm entrance, tuition and all materials.
