Little STEAMers: Sounds of the Sea
About
A hands-on session for ages 3–5 exploring the science of sound through instruments, stories and creating a seaside soundscape.
Children aged 3–5 explore the science of sound through music, movement and playful investigation, discovering how vibrations create the sounds we hear. The session includes a mystery bag of sound-related objects, a warm-up with voice and body sounds, a story, and hands-on exploration of instruments to see and feel vibrations. Children then create their own seaside soundscape, experimenting with volume, speed and pitch, while learning about the role of music and sound in the Royal Navy, including the Royal Marines Band Service. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
