Dressmaking: The Easy Guide - Make Your Perfect Dress From a Block - IPS
About
A five-week dressmaking course at Franklins in Ipswich teaching participants to create a perfectly fitting dress block using the book Dressmaking: The Easy Guide.
This five-week course, run on the same weekday over consecutive weeks, uses Helen Rhiannon's book Dressmaking: The Easy Guide to guide participants through perfecting the fit of a pattern block. Over the first two weeks attendees create a muslin to fit using the book's sleeve, bodice and skirt blocks, then spend the final three weeks adapting the blocks into different sleeves, necklines and skirt styles. Sewing machines, cutting tools and a basic sewing kit are provided; participants bring tracing paper, muslin fabric and their own copy of the book. Classes are for adults over 18 and include a 30-minute lunch break.
