After School Jewels: Jewellery Skills For 13-17 Year Olds
About
A six-week after-school jewellery course at Central Scotland School of Jewellery teaching 13-17 year olds traditional metalwork skills.
This beginner-level course for ages 13-17 runs over six Thursday sessions, introducing the fundamentals of jewellery and metalwork in a supervised studio setting. Weeks one to three cover tools, sawing, filing, texturing, rolling mill use and finishing techniques, with soldering introduced gradually in small supervised groups. In weeks four to six students design and make two to three finished pieces, such as a textured silver ring, a bangle, or silver earrings or a pendant. All tools, materials and a personal sketchbook are included, and there is no class on 11 February.
