Festive Brass Candle Holder
About
A beginner-friendly silversmithing workshop where participants texture, shape, solder and polish a patterned brass candle holder of their own design.
This half-day workshop at the Central Scotland School of Jewellery teaches traditional silversmithing skills to beginners, with no previous experience required. Working with heavy sheet brass, participants use the rolling mill, hammers and punches to add texture and pattern, then shape the piece and solder on a brass sleeve to hold a tapered candle. The session also covers filing, buffing and polishing to finish the brass, and all materials are provided, with tea, coffee and biscuits included. Two sessions run on the day, from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm.
