Leather Purse Making Workshop
About
A beginner-friendly one-day workshop at the Scottish Craft School where participants hand-stitch their own leather purse using sustainable leather and wool felt.
Tutor Jude leads this full-day leathercraft workshop in which participants make a large purse or mini-clutch from genuine leather and pure wool felt. Working from sustainable leather offcuts, attendees cut their pattern, assemble the purse and hand-stitch it, learning techniques including selecting and cutting leather, hand sewing tools and methods, inserting a zip, and finishing for durability. All materials and tools are provided, tea and coffee are supplied, and participants leave with a finished purse in their chosen colourway. The class is suitable for over-16s and complete beginners as well as those developing existing skills.
