My Friend and The Forest - A Walkthrough of Sarah Cunningham: Midnight Sun with Martin Clarkson
About
Artist Martin Clarkson leads a free walkthrough of the Sarah Cunningham: Midnight Sun exhibition, sharing stories of his friendship with the late painter.
Martin Clarkson guides visitors through Midnight Sun, the first institutional solo exhibition of the late Nottingham-born artist Sarah Cunningham (1993–2024). Speaking with a painter's eye, he shares stories of their friendship and insights into Sarah's biography, from her early beginnings to her international success. The hour-long walkthrough also explores both artists' love of paint as a material and a fascination with nature, deep time and the 'more than human'. The event takes place in Galleries 2&3, meeting at Reception, with a slow pace, gallery stools and microphone speakers.
