Walkthrough of Sarah Cunningham: Midnight Sun with Dr. Adam Searle
About
Dr Adam Searle leads a free gallery walkthrough of Sarah Cunningham's Midnight Sun exhibition, exploring feminist speculative fiction, forests and ecological storytelling.
Dr Adam Searle leads a walkthrough of the exhibition Sarah Cunningham: Midnight Sun, examining how feminist speculative fiction, particularly Ursula K. Le Guin, shaped the late artist's treatment of nature and the human. The session includes close readings of excerpts from Le Guin's The Word for World is Forest and The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction, and participants follow creative writing prompts exploring 'fabulation' as a way of thinking about ecology through visual art. The event takes place in Galleries 2&3 and lasts one hour.
