Learning Digital Photography
About
A 10-week hands-on course at Mary Ward Centre, Stratford teaching learners to move beyond automatic mode and master their camera's settings.
This 10-week course, taught by Anthony Palmer, is aimed at people who usually use their camera or smartphone in fully automatic mode and want to understand what the device can do. Weekly three-hour sessions cover lens selection, focal length, depth of field, metering, the exposure triangle, long exposure, white balance, flash, HDR and composition. Each class includes practical photography sessions, with demonstrations, written and video handouts, and self-study assignments; students also discuss each other's photographs as the course progresses.
