About
A four-day willow basketry course with Anna Liebmann at the Scottish Craft School, teaching stake and strand techniques for beginners and improvers.
Master basket weaver Anna Liebmann leads four days of willow basketry at the Central Scotland School of Craft, running from 10am to 4pm. Participants learn the fundamentals of stake and strand basketry, starting with a fruit basket before progressing to larger circular work such as a traditional willow shopping basket or kindling basket. Techniques covered include tying the slath, pairing weave, staking up, waling, randing, borders and handle making, using Scottish and English grown willows. The course suits beginners and improvers, with tools and materials included; participants bring their own lunch.
