Dances of Universal Peace

A day of circle dances and chants from sacred traditions, co-led by Scottish dance leaders with live music, welcoming beginners.

This day-long gathering in the Salisbury Centre Studio offers Dances of Universal Peace, a practice introduced by Samuel Lewis (Murshid SAM) in the late 1960s in which dancers move in circles while singing chants drawn from sacred traditions worldwide. The day is co-led by dance leaders from the Scottish community with live musical accompaniment, and every dance is taught anew so beginners are warmly welcomed. Participants are invited to bring simple food to share for lunch.
