STICK Conference: 200 Years of Scotland's Railways
About
STICK's autumn conference at the Engine Shed explores how 200 years of railways have shaped Scotland's history and landscape.
STICK, the subject specialist network for Scotland's transport and industry collections, holds its autumn conference at the Engine Shed in Stirling. Building on its spring event marking the 1826 opening of the Monkland and Kirkintilloch Railway, the day explores how two centuries of railways have shaped Scotland's history and landscape. The programme covers topics including viaducts, signalling, and how the railways created the fish supper, running from 10:15am to 3:30pm with lunch included. Bursaries covering the attendance fee are open to students, recent graduates and heritage professionals out of employment.
