Mould’n the Future: The Science and Art of Fungi with Professor Sarah Gurr
About
A talk by fungal biologist Professor Sarah Gurr on how fungi affect food security, climate change and human health, linked to RAMM's Living Labyrinths exhibition.
Professor Sarah Gurr, a world-renowned fungal biologist and Chair of Food Security at the University of Exeter, explores how fungi — organisms ruling a kingdom of their own — impact daily life, global food security, climate change and human health. The talk is part of a programme of events inspired by RAMM's exhibition Living Labyrinths: Art & Fungi (2 October – 21 February 2027), which bridges art and science through themes of biodiversity, symbiosis and medical mycology. Sarah Gurr is a Fellow of The Royal Society, Edinburgh, President of The British Mycological Society and an adviser to RAMM on the exhibition.
