One Day Upholstery Workshop
About
A beginner's one-day upholstery workshop with Lynne at Holden Clough Nurseries, learning to recover and reupholster a small piece of furniture.
Lynne, an upholsterer with over ten years' experience running her own soft furnishings business, leads this beginner workshop in small groups of four or five so each participant gets individual tuition. Attendees bring a manageable project such as a dining chair seat pad, small footstool, bench cushion or headboard panel, plus their own fabric and trim. The day covers fabric selection, tools, removing old fabric safely, assessing whether to replace or reuse foam, cutting and pattern matching, stapling techniques and finishing with tucking, trimming and a dust cover. All tools, foam, batting, a stapler, glue gun and a sewing machine for custom cushions are provided, with a one-hour lunch break and food available from The Reading Room Kitchen on site.
