Exploring Drawing Using Mixed Media
About
A five-week Wednesday afternoon drawing course at Attenborough Arts Centre exploring pencils, graphite, charcoal, chalks and pen and ink, open to beginners and experienced artists aged 18+.
Tutor Peter Clayton leads a five-week course in which participants explore the expressive qualities of different drawing media, including pencils, graphite sticks, charcoal, black and white chalks and pen and ink. Each week the tutor demonstrates a particular medium and suggests approaches ranging from realistic representation to more abstract, expressive work, using source materials such as landscape photos, natural forms and still life. Working takes place on white, toned and black paper, and participants are encouraged to bring their own source material to make work more personal. All materials are provided, beginners and those with experience are welcome, and participants must be aged 18+.
