Honeycomb Darning

A two-hour visible mending workshop at Shrewsbury Library learning honeycomb darning, with materials provided and participants welcome to bring items to mend.

This visible mending session teaches the technique of honeycomb darning and its uses in repairing clothing in a creative, visible way. A variety of materials and yarns are provided to practise on, and participants are welcome to bring a sock, leggings or t-shirt to mend. The session is framed around visible mending as a mindful, communal practice that addresses the environmental impact of the textile industry. It lasts two hours and is open to ages 12 and over.
