About

A one-day Bronze Age metalworking workshop where participants cast their own bronze sword, axehead, knife or torc under a master bronzesmith.

This one-day workshop (10am–3pm with a lunch break) teaches the Bronze Age technique of casting molten bronze in sand. With only two participants per session, attendees choose a design based on real UK and European archaeology, make and use a sand mould from a pattern, melt bronze in a furnace, and learn how to polish and finish their casting. Tickets include farm entrance, full-day tuition and all materials; the workshop is aimed at adults but suitable for ages 16+, with under-18s accompanied by an adult.
