Drawing for Absolute Beginners
About
A 12-week Monday evening beginner's drawing course covering line, tone, texture, perspective and composition with tutor Nicholas Tonino-Baldion.
This 12-week course at the Mary Ward Centre's Stratford campus is designed for complete beginners or those returning to drawing, building skills step by step from mark-making and basic shapes to more complex work. Students learn line, planes, tonal values, texture, perspective and composition, drawing from art, direct observation and imagination, with the tutor introducing each lesson through live demonstrations followed by one-to-one guidance. Sessions end with a 'gallery' where students share work and receive constructive feedback. Basic media and equipment are provided, and learners are encouraged to build their own kit for home practice.
