Watercolour, Pen and Ink
About
A six-week Tuesday afternoon course at Mary Ward Centre, Stratford teaching watercolour techniques combined with pen and ink, suitable for all skill levels.
This six-week course introduces watercolour techniques and their combination with pen and ink, covering washes, wet-into-wet brushwork, resists, texture, colour mixing and composition through themes such as landscape, seascape and still life. Sessions mix instruction, demonstration and hands-on practice, with later sessions moving into pen and ink and combining both mediums. The tutor, Joy Girvin, also introduces a range of artists for inspiration, and students are encouraged to bring their own resource materials. The course is suitable for beginners through to those refining their skills and leads on to other art courses at the centre.
